JAKARTA – The free practice session and the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP qualification will be filled with special events. A number of well-known national bands such as Padi and Slank are sure to enliven the sessions.

This was confirmed by the Deputy Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) Cahyadi Wanda at the Mandalika Gp Series Press Conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, March 8.

“The first and second days we will include several activities. The second day there will be a concert. There are Padi, Slank, Run, Pamungkas. So all of them are a series of activities that we make, not only for them to come to watch the race, but there are other entertainment activities," said Cahyadi.

The concert was held by the organizers as a strategy to boost ticket sales for the first two days. As is known, so far the tickets for the free practice sessions and qualifying have not been sold out.

The number of ticket sales that sold out was bought by the audience on the third day or the peak of the race event. The tickets on that day were confirmed to have all sold out.

Cahyadi said that the greatest public interest so far was indeed on race day. In fact, the first and second days are no less exciting, so it's a shame to just pass up.

"Many do not understand. On the second day the agenda was very exciting, starting at 9 am. There is the Asia Talent Cup race, the last free practice, then qualification. To get exclusive merchandise, you can only come on the spot. So that should be the main attraction, there are official merchandise from all the riders," said Cahyadi.

The Mandalika MotoGP race will take place from March 18 to 20 this month. This is the first time Indonesia has hosted a world-class race after 25 years of vacuum.
