Second Start In Qatar MotoGP Qualification, Bastianini Makes Indonesian Sponsors Proud

JAKARTA - Gresini Racing MotoGP racer, Enea Bastianini, won the second best time in the Qatar 2022 MotoGP qualifying session at the Losail Circuit, Saturday night. These results make sponsors from Indonesia proud who have been providing support.

Enea Bastianini, based on data quoted from Antara, Sunday was able to record a time of 1:53,158 seconds to cover the 5.38 km trajectory. Even though on Friday's practice session they were only in the top ten.

However, in the opening session of FP3 the Italian racer was at the top of the record time with 1:53,790 seconds. The speed of the Ducati Desmosedici GP22 is also very reliable, reaching 350.6 kph. In the second qualifying session, racer number 23 dominated the circuit with a speed of 349.5 kph.

Meanwhile, Bastianini's teammate, Fabio Di Giannantonio, who has just moved to the MotoGP class, will start from position 21. The young racer who is also from Italy has a time of 1:54,276 seconds.

This qualification result certainly makes Indonesia proud, because Gresini Racing MotoGP is fully supported by sponsors from Indonesia, including the Federal Oil lubricant brand that adorns the Ducati Desmosedici GP motorcycle mounted by Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio.

"It's a fantastic result for me, for the team and also for Fausto. We worked a lot on time attack as well during testing and now we are at the forefront. Obviously we are always looking for more and pole position is not too far away, this position will be decisive," said Enea Bastianini in his official statement.

"The race will be very challenging. I never started in this position in front of everyone, and we have to understand the course of the race. There are at least ten riders who can fight for the podium and the victory. It is important to understand the track conditions and choose the right tires. Five laps first will be the key!" he added.

Meanwhile, the new rider who moved to MotoGP, Fabio Di Giannantonio, admitted that he was quite happy with the qualifying results. He assessed that the results achieved will have positive and negative aspects.

"We get a better understanding on every entry while improving the feeling with the bike. Even this time we made some important steps forward. The downside is that I don't feel comfortable at the bottom of the classification, and I have to have the right frame of mind to fully admit this is the best of the best, so first I have to learn how to continue the same ability as the others.” he said.

In the opening race of the 2022 MotoGP, the race will be led by Pramac Ducati team rider Jorge Martin. One more rider who will fill the front race at the Losail Circuit is Honda's Marc Marquez.
