JAKARTA - World number four and top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas was humiliated by number 163 qualifier from Russia Roman Safiullin in straight sets in the ATP Marseille quarter-finals on Friday.

The 24-year-old Safiullin pulled off an impressive 6-4, 6-4 victory over her Greek opponent who was runner-up at last year's Grand Slam French Open.

"This is the biggest win of my career," said the Russian, a former Australian Open junior champion.

"This is the first time I have been to the quarter-finals and the first time I have beaten the top 10 players."

Safiullin will then challenge world number nine who was also the winner of the Rotterdam tournament last weekend, Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada in the last four.

Auger-Aliassime needed six match points to beat Ilya Ivashka of Belarus 6-3, 6-4.

The other semi-final will pit second seed Andrey Rublev of Russia against Benjamin Bonzi of France.
