Duel Against Francis Ngannou Next Year, Tyson Fury: I'm Sure Will Break All Pay Per View Records In The US

JAKARTA – Heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury has confirmed that he will make his duel with UFC star Francis Ngannou. The fight is scheduled to take place next year.

Fury, who is a heavyweight boxing champion, has long been interested in fighting Ngannou, who is the UFC heavyweight champion. For that, he also updated his match plan and promised to fight Ngannou next year.

"I will fight Francis Ngannou in Las Vegas next year, in March or February," Fury said as quoted by Marca.

Fury and Ngannou have been involved in a social media battle of nerves in recent months. Fury even immediately teased Ngannou when he won over Ciryl Gane at UFC 270.

Ngannou himself had said he was very interested in fighting Fury. Moreover, he first dreamed of becoming a professional boxer before finally pursuing a career as a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter.

Fury is currently preparing to defend his heavyweight title against Dillian Whyte. The plan is that the fight will take place in April this year.

"There will be no talk this year because I have a number of boxing agendas to do. But next year we can present a horrendous fight," said Fury.

"This will be a big game. I'm sure it will break all pay per view records in the United States," Fury continued.

The fight in the boxing ring against Fury is clearly far more promising in terms of income for Ngannou than his victory over Ciryl. This reflects on Fury's last duel with Deontay Wilder in October last year.

When compared to the boxing party, Ngannou's income from the match against Ciryl Gane was almost tens of times what Fury made when he met Wilder.

Ngannou was recorded to only bring home 600 thousand dollars or only Rp. 8.6 billion in the duel with Gane. Meanwhile, Fury managed to reap revenues of 30 million dollars, equivalent to Rp. 430 billion.

These stark contrasts are clearly one of the things that can encourage Ngannou to switch to the boxing ring in addition to his desire to realize his childhood dreams.
