Andritany Ardhiyasa Performs Well In Liga 1, Persija Goalkeeper Coach: He Can Read Opponents' Game

JAKARTA - Persija goalkeeper coach Ahmad Fauzi said goalkeeper and team captain Andritany Ardhiyasa performed well in the 2021-2022 Indonesian League 1 because he was able to read the opponent's game.

"He is able to read the opponent's game and that really helps his performance in goal," said Fauzi, quoted by Antara from the Persija website in Jakarta, Wednesday.

According to Fauzi, Andritany has shown consistent performance in every Liga 1 match this season.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper shows high fighting spirit and, at the same time, is able to carry out his duties as a team leader well.

"Andritany's performance deserves to be appreciated. However, there is still an evaluation that must be improved so that his performance is much better. His consistency this season cannot be separated from how he trains seriously," said Fauzi.

Andritany's role at Persija is irreplaceable. He is only absent if it is not possible to play. In Liga 1 this season, from the 24 matches that the "Tiger Kemayoran" squad has passed, Andritany appeared 19 times.

Competition operator PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) noted that Andritany temporarily made 71 saves for Persija and that number became the second highest in Liga 1 2021-2022. Persipura goalkeeper Fitrul Dwi Rustapa holds the most saves, which is 72 times.

One of Andritany's striking performances was when he helped his team draw 3-3 with Persebaya in the Liga 1 match in Bali, Monday (14/2).

At that time, Andritany made 13 saves from 16 opponent attempts on goal.

Fauzi also hopes that what Andritany has shown can be imitated by other Persija goalkeepers, namely Adixi Lenzivio, Yoewanto Stya Beny, Cahya Supiradi and Risky Muhammad Sudirman.

"I hope whoever the Persija goalkeeper who is sent for the match is always ready and showing the best performance," said Fauzi.
