JAKARTA - The Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) immediately fixed the main track of the Mandalika circuit after the 2022 MotoGP pre-season test which was completed last Sunday. This was done to ensure that the Mandalika Circuit trajectory complies with the standards of the Fedération enternationale de Motocyclisme (FIM).

According to the President Director of ITDC, Abdulbar M. Mansoer, the improvements are mainly for race safety and are confirmed to refer to the safety standards set by the FIM.

"It is possible that the ITDC Group will also increase the need for tools to clean circuit tracks," said ITDC President Director Abdulbar M. Mansoer as quoted by Antara, Wednesday.

ITDC, which is the SOE developer of The Mandalika, has coordinated and sent a work plan to the FIM to ensure that the quality of the circuit is properly maintained and up to standards.

"We, together with our main contractor PT Pembangunan Perumahan Tbk and Roadgrip Motorsport Indonesia (RMI), will work hard to meet the deadline set by the FIM and we are optimistic that it can be completed on time," said Abdulbar.

The commitment of ITDC and colleagues to improve the quality of the Mandalika circuit track provides the best experience for the riders and spectators.

"We hope that our commitment to maintaining conditions and improving the quality of the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit track can provide the best race experience for riders and spectators when the race is held later," he said.

In line with Mansour, MGPA President Director Priandhi Satria said that his party had discussed with Dorna Sport (the holder of the commercial rights of MotoGP) and the FIM regarding a number of records for the last pre-season test.

"We are committed to making improvements based on these records and ensuring that preparations both from the circuit side, supporting facilities, to the quality of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia event can meet the requirements and meet the expected standards," said Priandhi.
