JAKARTA – Canadian tennis player Felix Auger-Aliassime has successfully broken the void on the ATP Tour. That was after he came out as champion at the 2022 Rotterdam Open.

The 21-year-old won the first title of his career on the ATP Tour after beating Stefanos Tsitsipas on Sunday, February 13. Felix managed to win in two sets 6-4, 6-2 in 78 minutes.

"It's not been a smooth road since my first final three years ago. It's an amazing day, I got my first title in Rotterdam. My first ATP main draw was also here," Felix said as quoted by Antara.

Before securing the first title, Felix first got rid of Andrey Rublev who was the first seed in the semifinals.

Felix appeared very dominant against Tsitsipas. In fact, he comes with a 0-8 win-loss record in the final round of the tour level and has never won a set in those matches.

This year Felix is doing well. Prior to the victory in Rotterdam he had already helped Canada to the ATP Cup title in January, before reaching the quarter-finals at the Australian Open.

His victory over Tsitsipas automatically reduced the win-loss 3-5. This is also the first time Felix has been able to beat Tsitsipas since 2019.

"I have many wonderful memories playing here. Thank you for such a special week. I will remember this for the rest of my life. It was the happiest day for me," he said.
