Ralf Rangnick Urges Manchester United To Buy Nearest Summer Striker

JAKARTA – Manchester United (MU) is considered to need to bring in a new striker in the nearest summer. The need after seeing the results in the last two matches of the Red Devils.

This was conveyed by United's interim coach Ralf Rangnick after his side's failure to convert chances saw them draw against Burnley in the league and lose to Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.

"The club needs the best centre-forwards. I think everyone is aware of that," Rangnick said as quoted by BBC Sport.

United are still being linked with Norway international Erling Braut Haaland. The prolific Borussia Dortmund striker has a good relationship with Rangnick.

Rangnick is understood to have brokered a deal that saw the 21-year-old move to Red Bull Salzburg in 2019.

In addition to looking for a striker, Manchester United also has a priority in finding a replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. For this position they are heavily linked with Mauricio Pochettino.

The former Tottenham Hotspur coach is almost impossible to turn down an offer. He is likely to want to return to England and be reunited with his former Spurs side Harry Kane.

Apart from that, Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan, Sweden frontman Alexander Isak – who has been heavily linked with Arsenal – are other potential options for United. However, Rangnick is known as an admirer of Czech Republic striker Patrik Schick.
