Tottenham Vs Southampton: Antonio Conte's Team Defeated 2-3 At Home

JAKARTA - Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-3 at home to Southampton in the 24th week of the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday morning.

Two Spurs goals were scored by Son Heung Min and an own goal by Jan Bednarek. Meanwhile, three goals from Southampton were scored by Armando Broja, Mohamed Elyounoussi and Che Adams.

Launching Antara, this result makes Tottenham stuck in seventh position in the Premier League standings with 36 points. Meanwhile, Southampton moved up to 10th with 28 points.

Spurs had scored in the 12th minute through Cristian Romero's header after maximizing Son Heung-min's free kick. However, the goal was disallowed after the linesman raised the flag first for offside.

The new Spurs really broke the deadlock six minutes later. Pierre-Emile Hoejbjerg's cross was wrongly anticipated by Southampton defender Jan Bednarek and instead slid into his own net. The score became 1-0.

Southampton replied in the 23rd minute. Romain Perraud's cross was completed by Armando Broja with a close-range shot to make it 1-1.

The score 1-1 for both teams lasted until the first half was over.

Spurs back ahead in the 70th minute. Son Heung-min found the net with Southampton with his shot from close range after using Lucas Moura's cross. The score becomes 2-1.

The score lasted just nine minutes after Southampton equalized. Mohamed Elyounoussi tore through the Spurs goal with a header, which met James Ward-Prowse's cross in front of Hugo Lloris' goal. The position becomes 2-2.

The visitors broke into Hugo Lloris's goal again three minutes later. James Ward-Prowse again packed an assist which was completed perfectly into a goal by Che Adams and put Southampton 3-2 ahead.

Spurs were able to score an equalizer in the injury time period. Steven Bergwijn beat Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster after getting Cristian Romero's header in front of goal.

However, the referee ruled out Bergwijn's goal after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) check showed Bergwijn was in an offside position before heading in Cristian Romero's cross.

Tottenham failed to catch up until the second half ended and the match ended with a 3-2 win for Southampton.
