Cavaliers Grab Pacers Caris LeVert 90 Minutes Before Teams Go Head-to-head At Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse

JAKARTA - The Cleveland Cavaliers have reportedly acquired Caris LeVert from the Indiana Pacers through a barter agreement.

The report appeared just 90 minutes before the starting pitch of the two teams' match at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Sunday local time (Monday WIB) and was later confirmed by Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle ahead of the game.

"Cleveland are in a great position, adding strength with a player like Caris LeVert could propel them to the top flight," Carlisle said.

"Caris is a really fun young man to work with. He is a special person and player. I will miss him," he added.

The Cavaliers reportedly sent Ricky Rubio, one first-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and two other second-round picks to the Pacers for LeVert.

In addition to LeVert, the Cavaliers also received the Pacers' second round of the 2022 Draft to vote.

After only 22 wins last season, the Cavaliers have become a force to be reckoned with this season, occupying the playoff zone and aiming to win the Eastern Conference title.

They have been shopping diligently to strengthen their backcourt and winger sectors after losing Collin Sexton and Rubio to injury until the end of the season.

LeVert is expected to help, considering he arrived from the Pacers with an average of 18.7 points and 4.4 assists amid a disappointing performance for his team who currently have a 19-36 win-loss record.
