Klopp Says About Elliott Who Comeback From Injury And Help Liverpool Win The FA Cup: A Fearless Player

JAKARTA - Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp praised one of his players, Harvey Elliott, who successfully helped the Reds win even though he had just returned from injury.

For Klopp, Elliott is a player who knows no fear. Not only that, Klopp also admitted that he was impressed with the mental strength of the 18-year-old player.

"Harvey (Elliott) and the medical department are doing an amazing job. Even though he was injured, he (Elliott) is a fearless player," Klopp was quoted as saying by Liverpool's official website.

Elliott was one of three players who led Liverpool to victory over Cardiff City in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday, February 6. In the match at Anfield Stadium, Cardiff lost 0-3 to the hosts who opened the scoring through Diogo Jota, followed by Takumi Minamino and closed by Elliott.

The Reds' encounter with Cardiff in the FA Cup was Elliott's comeback moment after a long absence due to an ankle dislocation injury. Elliott experienced the unfortunate incident in September 2021 when he helped the team against Leeds United.

Nearly six months into recovery, Elliott is finally back on the pitch. When brought on by Liverpool against Cardiff, Elliot came on in the 58th minute to replace Naby Keita.

Although entered as a substitute but Elliott appeared slick and full of totality. He didn't even show any trauma from the injuries he had previously experienced.

The performance of the young player in the match really impressed Klopp. It's not just about the goals he scored but also the perfect game he put in.

"When you're that young you deal with it better and he (Elliott) handles it perfectly. He got the goal, it's a very touching moment."
