JAKARTA - The WADA Sanctions Acceleration Settlement Task Force together with the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali will announce the status of Indonesia's exemption from sanctions by the world anti-doping agency today, Friday.

The chairman of the task force who is also the chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) Raja Sapta Oktohari said that the certainty of lifting the WADA sanctions was determined on Thursday by WADA Headquarters in Montreal, Canada.

However, as reported by Antara, the official announcement regarding this will only be delivered at a press conference today.

The release of WADA's sanctions against the Indonesian Anti-Doping Agency (LADI) is faster than the initial sentence that has been in effect for one year since it was imposed on October 7, 2021.

He also invited all people to participate virtually in the #RedPutihBerkibarLagi campaign when Indonesia was free from WADA sanctions.

"The sanctions, which were originally one year, can be completed within four months. This is a joint effort. We are unraveling the existing tangled threads, namely the main problems of communication, administration and technicalities," Oktohari said in a KOI press release.

"One by one we are fixing it and I hope that in the future Indonesia should be able to help other countries that have this kind of experience because Indonesia has proven to be successful in overcoming this challenge," he added.

Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Anti-Doping Institute (LADI) Rheza Maulana previously said that Indonesia could regain compliance with the WADA Code because it showed positive progress over the past four months.

LADI has at least completed the requested requirements, such as the Articles of Association/Budgets (AD/ART) and the plan for a doping test (TDP) for 2022, which had previously been approved by the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA) as the agency assigned by WADA to conduct assistance to LADI.

Rheza added that LADI has also been able to start implementing the TDP that has been approved professionally and independently.
