JAKARTA - The selection process for Candidate Members of the Judicial Commission (KY) leaves 55 candidates and is tested online to become members of KY 2020-2025. Launching Antara, Binsar, who is currently still active as a judge at the Banten High Court, is part of the second group of the implementation of the public trial for members of the KY. In his presentation, he wanted to harmonize the relationship between KY as a 'supporting unit' to strengthen the independence of the judicial power held by the Supreme Court.

"My presence in KY is expected to resolve the deadlock in MA and KY problems, which have been less harmonious, so that the MA and KY's vision and mission are created for the sake of a great trial," he said during a teleconference, Tuesday, July 21.

Binsar is confident that he will be able to re-establish a good cooperative relationship with the Supreme Court leadership and the four judicial bodies by involving the DPR as the people's representatives. He even mentioned that he was willing to leave his position in order to improve the relationship between KY and MA.

Binsar also plans to make technical guidelines for the scope of supervision of the Supreme Court and KY based on Joint Decree No. 47 and 02 of 2009 concerning the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct for judges so that when imposing ethical sanctions from the Supreme Court there is no need to question KY. With the examination method based on the joint regulation of MA-KY Number 2 of 2012, he said, the position of a judge won the trust of the public.

He also assessed that judges examinations by KY should be carried out in private or not published, until the judge is proven guilty and subject to sanctions, in order to protect the honor of the judge and the court.

"If we look at Portugal and the Netherlands, judges who accept bribes, for example, will be examined and asked whether they want to admit guilt or not, if they confess, they will be allowed to resign from their position as a judge, otherwise they will be prosecuted and broadcast to the public. , "He said.
