La crise énergétique a des répercussions réelles sur la guerre iranienne, le Bangladesh limite les carburants et ferme toutes les universités

JAKARTA - Le Bangladesh a annoncé la fermeture de toutes les universiteśes pour la réalisation des cours dans le cadre des mesures d’urgence visant à économiser du carburant dans le contexte de la crise énergétique aggraveée par les attaques des États-Unis et d’Israël contre l’Iran.

Citant le Economic Times, lundi 9 mars, la fermeture des cours dans les universités publiques et privées du Bangladesh s’applique à partir de ce jour, jusqu’à une date non détermineée.

Selon les responsables bangladais, cette mesure réduirait non seulement la consommation d'électricité, mais également la congestion des routes, ce qui entraînerait une perte de carburant.

Les responsables ont indiqué que les activités universitaires au Bangladesh consommaient une grande quantité d’électricité pour les dortoirs, les salles de classe, les laboratoires et les De plus, cette mesure a également été prise parce que le Bangladesh fait face à l’incertitude concernant les approvisionnements en carburant et en gaz suite aux perturbations sur les marchés énergétiques mondiaux causées par le conflit en cours au Moyen-Orient.

Le Bangladesh, qui dépend toujours des importations pour 95 % de ses besoins énergétiques, a également imposé des restrictions quotidiennes sur la vente et l’achat de carburant le vendredi 6 mars après des achats paniques et des tentatives de stockage de carburant.

Dans le cadre de la consommation d’énergie, le gouvernement du Bangladesh a également demandé à toutes les écoles utilisant un curriculum étranger et les centres de soutien scolaire (bimbel) ou les cours de rattrapage de suspendre leurs opérations pendant la période de restriction de l’utilisation de l’électricité.

Pendant que les écoles publiques et privées du Bangladesh ont déjà été fermées en raison de l’entrée du mois sacré du Ramadan 2026, suite à la fermeture de la plupart des établissements d’enseignement dans le pays pendant cette période.

Le Bangladesh est actuellement également confronté à une grave pénurie de gaz qui a contraint le gouvernement à interrompre les opérations de quatre des cinq usines d’engrais du pays, réacheminant le gaz disponible vers les centrales électriques pour éviter des pannes généralisées.

Le pays a également acheté du GNL sur le marché à un prix bien plus élevé tout en recherchant des cargaisons supplémentaires pour combler le déficit d'approvisionnement.

« Nous faisons tout ce que nous pouvons pour réduire la consommation et assurer la stabilit́e des approvisionnements en énergie, en carburant et en importations », a déclaré un haut responsable du ministeré de l’énergie du Bangladesh.
