Foreign Minister Sugiono Explores Indonesia's Dairy Products Industrial Cooperation With Estonia

JAKARTA - Foreign Minister Sugiono encourages exploring opportunities for Indonesia's potential cooperation with Estonia, especially in the industrial sector of the dairy products.

This was conveyed by Foreign Minister Sugiono when receiving an honorary visit (courtesy call) of the Estonian Ambassador to Indonesia, Singapore and ASEAN Priit Turk, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta on Thursday.

On this occasion, the two discussed various joint efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the trade and investment sector, as well as digitization.

In particular, Foreign Minister Sugiono encourages increased business-to-business and people-to-people relations.

"We need to explore various new opportunities to encourage more intensive business-to-business and people-to-people relations," said Foreign Minister Sugiono in a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thursday, March 27.

In 2024, the total trade value of Indonesia-Estonia will reach 540 million US dollars, an increase of 47.95 percent compared to the previous year.

The investment value of Estonia in Indonesia in 2024 reached 5.8 million US dollars. This investment cooperation has the potential to be improved in the future.

Foreign Minister Sugiono hopes that the two countries can increase collaboration in increasing digital cooperation with Estonia, including through cybersecurity.

In addition to discussing bilateral issues, Foreign Minister Sugiono and Ambassador Priit Turk also exchanged views on dynamics in the Middle East region, especially Palestine, as well as developments in the Russian-Ukraine military conflict.
