JAKARTA - Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called on in his speech for anti-Israeli activists in the United States and Europe to step up protests against Israel's new military operations in Gaza "to strongly oppose this dangerous and horrific act."
"Once again children are killed, houses destroyed, and civilians displaced. People must stop this tragedy," Khamenei said in a Nowruz speech, according to a transcript of English posted on his website, quoted from The Times of Israel March 20.
Quoted from IRNA, Nowruz is the beginning of the Iranian New Year which this year falls on March 20.
He added that the recent US deadly attack on Tehran-backed Houthis in Yemen was a "crime that must be stopped."

"Various incidents occurred in Tehran and then in Lebanon, resulting in the loss of important figures for the Iranian people and the Islamic world," he said.
"This is indeed a bitter tragedy," he said.
