Timah Corruption Case, Helena Lim Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison

The defendant Helena Lim was sentenced to 5 years in prison. He was found guilty in a series of cases of alleged corruption in the management of tin commodity trading in the Mining Business Permit (IUP) area at PT Timah Tbk for the 2015-2022 period.

"The defendant Helena was sentenced to 5 years in prison," said the judge during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Monday, December 30.

Not only imprisonment, but the crazy rich Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) as well as the owner of the PT Quantum Skyline Exchange was also sentenced to a fine of Rp. 750 million.

If the defendant cannot pay the fine, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 6 months.

"A fine of Rp. 750 million, provided that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 6 months," said the judge.

The verdict of the panel of judges was lighter than the prosecutor's summons. Because, previously Helena Lim was sentenced to eight years in prison.

In the tin corruption case, Helena Lim and Harvey Moies are said to have received Rp420 billion.
