Budi Arie Asked 18 Questions When Questioned About Corruption Related To Komdigi Online Gambling

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya revealed that the former Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi was questioned by 18 questions by investigators at Bareskrim Polri during an online gambling-related examination.

"In the request for information against BAS, investigators asked 18 (eight8) questions," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Polda Metro Jaya Ade Ary Syam Indradi as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 19.

Ade Ary explained that Budi Arie Setiadi (BAS) arrived at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit Building at 10.50 WIB and continued with an examination or request for information against the person concerned starting at 11.10 WIB until 17.13 WIB.

Joint investigators from Sub-Directorate (Sub-Directorate) III Tipidkor Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya and Kortas Tipidkor Polri have started investigating cases of alleged corruption.

First, giving gifts or promises to state administrators at the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) in approximately 2023, as referred to in Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption Juncto Article 5 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.

Then, receiving gifts or promises or receiving gratuities by state officials at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics in the period 2023, as referred to in Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 and/or Article 12 B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

Furthermore, giving gifts or promises to civil servants at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) for the period 2022-2024, as referred to in Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

Then, the receipt of gifts or promises made by civil servants at the Ministry of Communication and Digi during the period 2022-2024, as referred to in Article 12 a or Article 12 b or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption Juncto Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code and Article 64 of the Criminal Code.

Budi Arie Setiadi said he was examined as a witness by the Police.

"That's right, I gave testimony as a witness. Therefore, stop slandering and framing because he will burn himself," he said.

Budi Arie underwent examination as a witness related to the online gambling case (judol) or online gambling involving Ministry of Communications and Informatics employees who have now changed their name to the Ministry of Communication and Industry.
