Puan Hopes Golkar Synergy Makes DPR More Asspirative To Build People's Welfare

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, attended the peak of the 60th Anniversary of the Golkar Party. Puan also invited Golkar to increase synergy in building Indonesia through the DPR as a state legislative institution.

The commemoration of Golkar's 60th Anniversary was held at Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor Regency, Thursday night l (12/12/2024) with the theme ' Solid Golkar for Advanced Indonesia'.

"Happy birthday to the 60th Golkar Party. Hopefully, Golkar's works can continue to encourage the development of the country for Advanced Indonesia," said Puan.

This event was also attended by President Prabowo Subianto. The presence of invited guests was welcomed by the General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Golkar Party Bahlil Lahadalia and Golkar ranks.

When she arrived at the location, Puan greeted a number of Golkar figures who had been present first.

The first woman to serve as Chair of the DPR RI expressed her hopes to Golkar. As one of the major factions in the DPR, according to Puan, Golkar also plays a role in determining the direction of state policy.

"Through his faction in the DPR, I invite Golkar to work together to make the DPR more aspirational to build people's welfare," he said.

Puan added that the synergy between the Golkar factions in the DPR has been going well and needs to be improved in order to strengthen the function of parliament.

"And together with other factions in the DPR, Golkar can strengthen the work of parliament in optimizing legislative functions in terms of legislation, budget, and supervision of government programs and performance," explained Puan.

The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture also emphasized the importance of cooperation between all factions in the DPR. Although each party has its own policies, Puan believes that each faction has the same goal to bring the nation better.

"The spirit of mutual cooperation, togetherness, and unity between the leadership and all members of the DPR RI and factions, including the Golkar faction, will certainly be maximized with cohesiveness and solidarity in carrying out the constitutional duties of the DPR," he explained.

"All of this is definitely to ensure that the state can provide the greatest prosperity for the community," added Puan.

Puan's arrival seemed to be warmly welcomed by Golkar Party cadres. He came with a number of PDI-P elites (PDIP), such as PDIP General Treasurer Olly Dondokambey who is also the Governor of North Sulawesi and members of the PDIP faction, namely Alex Indra Lukman and Aria Bima.

"What we respect is the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, the great Indonesian woman, Mrs. Puan Maharani," said the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee for the 60th Anniversary of Golkar who is also a member of the DPR, Sari Yuliati when greeting invited guests from the podium to the applause of Golkar cadres.
