JAKARTA - The passenger motorboat (KMP) Trimas Fadhila hit the Sofia gas cargo ship (MT Gas) in the Tanjung Sekong anchorage area, Merak Port.

The incident was reported at 19.35 WIB. The Head of the KSKP Merah Police, Iptu Ignatius Andrian Setianto, said that all the passengers of KMP Trimas Fadhila who hit MT Gas Sofia, survived.

"That's right, all passengers survived but there was damage to the two ships," said Andrean as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 13.

Andrean said all passengers had been unloaded and evacuated at the seventh pier of Merak Port.

Based on information from the monitoring of ship traffic (VTS) at Merak Port at 19.35 WIB, Merak ship traffic monitoring officer (VTSO) received a report from the Sofia gas ship, that the Trimas Fadhila motorboat rammed while anchored in the Tanjung Sekong area.

VTSO summoned KMP Trimas Fadhila and the ship informed that the ship was moving to wait in line for the seventh pier but was dragged by the current to the north.

Temporary information, KMP Trimas Fadhila was hit by the current and hit MT Gas Sofia. KMP Trimas Fadhila suffered damage to the right neutral section, and the anchor chain fell.

MT Gas Sofia reported a twisted damage in the bulk, resulting in a bulkous basin 5-10 cm deep.
