Palestinian Foreign Ministry Calls Nuseirat Massacre By Israeli Troops Reflects International Community Failure

JAKARTA - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the brutal massacre by Israeli troops at the Nuseirat refugee camp late Thursday that left dozens of people dead and injured.

The ministry described the attack as a direct consequence of the failure of the international community to carry out its resolution and commitment, which in turn prompted the occupation to increase its crime and continue its systematic destruction in Gaza.

It said it was aimed at turning Gaza into an uninhabitable zone, which forced its residents to migrate by force.

"The ongoing destruction in northern Gaza and Gaza City, as documented by the media, is part of a deliberate policy to eradicate the lives of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip," the ministry said in a statement Friday, quoted from WAFA December 13.

"This is an attempt to weaken the possibility of the establishment of a Palestinian state and to reduce the Palestinian issue to a population problem that needs humanitarian assistance," the ministry added.

The ministry holds the international community accountable for its inaction in protecting the Palestinian people, stopping genocide and ongoing forced transfer.

The ministry also again called for an immediate cessation of aggression, the provision of international protection, and the application of relevant United Nations resolutions.

It is known that at least 33 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured tonight when Israeli warplanes bombed a building and several houses in the Nuseirat refugee camp, located in the central Gaza Strip.

The WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli warplanes launched several airstrikes against nearby buildings and houses, which resulted in the death of 33 Palestinians, mostly women and children. Many others were injured in the attack.

Medical sources have confirmed since early Thursday that Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have killed 70 people, including 57 people in the central and southern parts of the Gaza Strip.
