Police Say MD Pictures Employees Are Also Involved In Embezzlement Of Movie Vouchers

JAKARTA - The Kemayoran Police are still investigating reports of embezzlement of vouchers for horror film tickets. A number of people who are indicated or suspected of being the perpetrators have been summoned and investigated.

In fact, investigators suspect that the production house (MD Pictures) is also involved in the case of embezzlement of vouchers for Sorop's film.

"Meanwhile, the results of the examination show that what makes (doubling tickets) are the subordinates of MD (MD Pictures) itself," said Kemayoran Police Chief Kompol Agung Ardiansyah to VOI, Friday, December 13.

"The alleged perpetrator is an MD worker himself, an MD employee. The initials are SN," he said.

Kompol Agung said, this person from MD Pictures exceeded the printing of 63 Sorop movie ticket vouchers. The excess ticket was then sold at a price of Rp. 15 thousand per sheet.

"So there are advantages sold at this price, it's a price of Rp. 15,000 or Rp. 13,000," he said.

Kompol Agung added that the printing company itself was not involved in the embezzlement case.

"Our assumption is that he (MD Pictures employee) exceeds (ticket voucher printing). So it is not from other parties who participate in this crime intent," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the MD Pictures production house reported a printing company employee to the Kemayoran Police regarding embezzlement of the latest horror movie ticket voucher entitled 'Sorop' which will be released to hit theaters next week.

However, it has not yet aired, the printing staff who are on Jalan Kalibaru Timur have actually sold the voucher for the horror film ticket on social media accounts illegally. The perpetrators sell for personal gain.

As a result of the loss, the production house reported the printing company employees to the Kemayoran Police.

"The voucher for the spotlight film was embezzled. The voucher for the ticket to watch was sold on social media without our knowledge. So the voucher was issued before we took it out. The mode was sold through social media," said victim Rivki Morais, a representative from the production house, Thursday, December 12, evening.

Regarding this incident, two printing workers were questioned by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kemayoran Police regarding the case of embezzlement of Sorop's film ticket on Thursday, December 12, evening.

Both are known to have the initials S and Y. From S's statement, the employee who worked at the printing house in the East Kalibaru area, he got a ticket from his place of work.

"My intention is not to sell. At first, to watch with my family, it turns out that someone wants to buy tickets, I sell them," S told VOI at the Kemayoran Police, Thursday, December 12, evening.

Meanwhile, from Y's statement, he took the ticket voucher without the knowledge of the printing shop where he worked.

"I sold it through my friend, that he needed a lot of vouchers. Because I was tempted by the need, I gave him the sale of 30 vouchers," Y said before being taken to the examination room of the Kebayoran Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
