KPU Changes The Participation Rate For Election Voters In 2024 To 71 Percent

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) Mochammad Afifuddin announced that the latest data regarding voter participation in the 2024 Pilkada was 71 percent.

"The more recaps and incoming data, the participation we had asked as of December 4 yesterday, now nationally the average is 71 percent," said Afifuddin at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, Friday, December 13, quoted by Antara.

Afifuddin explained that the data changes were caused by data entry from several regions, especially the Papua region.

He expressed his gratitude and gratitude because most of the regional elections were going well.

"The process of implementation and recapitulation at the district/city and provincial levels has been completed and is running well," he said.

Previously, Afifuddin in a hearing with Commission II of the DPR, Wednesday, December 4, revealed that the participation of voters in the 2024 Pilkada reached 68 percent.

"In our glasses, it was extraordinary in the midst of stages like this. Of course we are very grateful for all the participation of many parties, voters who have exercised their voting rights," he said.

On Wednesday, June 5, the Indonesian KPU revealed that 81.78 percent of voters exercised their voting rights in the 2024 presidential election, then 81.42 percent for the Indonesian House of Representatives Election, and 81.36 percent for the DPD RI Member Election.
