The KPK Council Calls Nurul Ghufron Crazy And Careless When The Ethics Case Is Investigated

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is furious and criticizes Nurul Ghufron's steps and attitudes when he falls into ethical violations. A number of efforts made by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK make them unable to understand.

The anger was revealed by the Chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean, during a press conference on the 20219-2024 performance report at the ACLC KPK building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Thursday, December 12.

Initially, Tumpak said that the ethical case that ensnared Ghufron was the most difficult to take care of.

"Why was it so difficult for us to be reported, being sued at the TUN Court, being sued at the Supreme Court (about, red) the Regulation of the Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board is part of the KPK. How come the KPK leadership is suing the council rules? It's a bit strange, right," said Tumpak.

Tumpak said that the Regulation of the Supervisory Board from the start was made to prevent ethical violations. "Norms are also what we have brought down in the IS KPK. So since the beginning there have been, why are the current leaders suing," he said.

"Isn't that strange? It's strange, isn't it? It should be, if you don't like this provision, don't come here. Understand? If you want to come here, follow the rules here, right? Don't sue the rules, it's strange," continued Tumpak in a passionate tone.

It didn't stop there, Tumpak also said that Ghufron was annoying when he reported the KPK Supervisory Board to the police for investigating his ethical violations.

Meanwhile, Ghufron stumbled on an ethical case after helping his colleague's son-in-law who works at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). In fact, at that time the anti-graft commission was handling the case of the Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

"It's even more annoying, not just being sued, it was complained again that we returned to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. Crazy. (The report was made, ed) on the basis of abusing our authority," he said.

"Fortunately, I am grateful that law enforcement officers, the police can see that this is nothing. Until now I have never been summoned, defamed. Too much, "he said it was still fiery.

Meanwhile, member of the KPK Supervisory Board Albertina Ho also spoke out calling Ghufron's attitude dizzy. The baseless report finally made their focus divided.

"By reporting it to Bareskrim, then being sued to the TUN, then to the Supreme Court (submitting, red) our automatic judicial review must be divided," said Albertina.

"In addition to looking for evidence for the handling of the ethical case reported by the suspect NG, we also have to think about how to make answers to how to find evidence, how to prove it all at trial. It's quite confusing, it's very confusing," he said.

Not getting there, Albertina also wondered why only three of the five members of the KPK Supervisory Board were reported to Bareskrim. In fact, all decisions were taken collectively collegially.

"We are grateful that it was not processed further. So hopefully it will be completed and for the Supreme Court and at the Jakarta Administrative Court we have won, and have permanent legal force. Because those who are in dispute do not file legal remedies. So that the Council Regulation attributable is the validity of the decision from the Supreme Court and the decision in the Jakarta Administrative Court," he concluded.
