JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Regional 2 Education Office has implemented distance learning (PJJ) in teaching and learning activities for students at the Kebon Blank 09 State Elementary School (SDN), Kemayoran.

This PJJ policy was implemented considering the condition of the school which was used as the location for the evacuation posts for residents affected by the fire on Jalan Kebon Blank, Kemayoran.

"We have implemented PJJ for students since this morning," said Head of the Central Jakarta Regional 2 Education Sub-dept. Bambang Eko Prabowo at SDN 09 Kebon Blank, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

A total of 355 students of SDN Kebon Blank 09 participated in teaching and learning activities (KBM) through PJJ. The number of study groups is 15 rombels.

"Starting today it will be enforced," he said.

The PJJ policy at SDN Kebon Blank 09 was implemented after his party coordinated with the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the Kemayoran sub-district head. However, the implementation of this PJJ cannot be ascertained how long.

Based on the results of coordination with various parties, Bambang admitted that the school building would be used as a refugee location for up to two weeks at the latest. Therefore, his party will still conduct a joint study with the ranks regarding the continuation of school operations.

If the evacuation time needed is too long, his party could relocate teaching and learning activities to the nearest school. This certainty can only be decided after the study is carried out.

"The option could be that we relocate or continue to enforce PJJ. The certainty is that we are still reviewing and waiting for the policy of handling refugees," he said.

The evacuation posts located at SDN 09 Kebon Blank, namely posts from the DKI Jakarta BPBD, DKI Jakarta Social Service, population service posts from the DKI Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Office and health posts from the DKI Jakarta Health Office.

A fire in a densely populated settlement that occurred on Jalan Kebon Blank, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, allegedly came from the house of a plastic trash collector with the initials J.

The spark then quickly grew and burned all parts of the semi-permanent building in the area.

As a result of the fire in this densely populated settlement, as many as 1,800 people from 600 families and seven neighborhood units (RT) namely RT 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08 and 09 (joined in RW 05) were affected.
