On Facebook, East Jakarta Police Resmob Pretends To Be A Buyer Of Stolen Motorcycles, Here's The End Of The Story

JAKARTA - Two stolen motorbike sellers with the initials SAK and MF were arrested by members of the East Jakarta Metro Police Resmob who disguised themselves as buyers through Facebook's social media accounts.

The first arrest was made of a suspect with the initials MF who was tracked through his Facebook account while selling a stolen motorbike in the form of a Honda Spacy.

The tracking was carried out after the victim named Amirudin made a report of the theft case to the East Jakarta Metro Police.

After arresting MF, the police developed the perpetrator and succeeded in arresting SAK, who was the collector of the stolen motorbike.

"So the arrest of the suspect began with the discovery of an investigator selling a motorbike through the Facebook account 'NU JAU JAUH' belonging to the suspect MF. Then a member of the Resmob unit disguised himself as a buyer," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Armunanto, Wednesday, December 11.

After determining the promise by the suspect, the police then went undercover to conduct a COD transaction. When meeting with the suspect MF, the police immediately ambushed the suspect along with evidence.

"From the information of the suspect MF, information was obtained that there was another suspect with the initials SAK. We also arrested SAK in the Cakung area, East Jakarta," he said.

Furthermore, the two suspects with the initials MF and SAK were taken to the East Jakarta Metro Police for further processing.

The theft took place on Jalan Al Baido, RT 06/06, Lubang Buaya Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta. The victim reported to the East Jakarta Metro Police.

As a result of their actions, the two suspects with the initials SAK and MF were charged with Article 363 in conjunction with Article 480 of the Criminal Code.
