LOMBOK East Lombok Police arrested 10 people suspected of raping a student with a disability who is still a student. "The victim's parents began to suspect after seeing their child's stomach grow. They then bought a pregnancy test kit to confirm, and the results were positive," explained AKP Made Darma.

This case was revealed after one of the main perpetrators gave a confession, which then triggered the arrest of another perpetrator on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Based on the investigation, the victim was found to have experienced repeated sexual violence by the perpetrators.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 81 of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection, in conjunction with Article 76D of Law Number 35 of 2014, and Article 6 of Law Number 12 of 2022. The legal process is ongoing with a zero-tolerance approach.

"This case is very serious. We will ensure that the legal process runs as fairly as possible. In addition, psychological assistance has been provided to the victim and his family to help overcome trauma," added AKP Made Darma.
