North Sumatra Police Guarantee Aquabike Security Jetski Lake Toba

MEDAN - The North Sumatra Regional Police guarantee the security of the implementation of the 2023 Aquabike Jetski World Championship on 22-26 November 2023 in four Lake Toba areas, namely Karo, Dairi, Samosir, and Toba Regencies.

North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi in Samosir, Wednesday, said that his party had prepared security well in order to create a sense of comfort and security in the implementation of the 2023 Aquabike World Championship.

He asked all parties to come together to create a safe and comfortable situation in order to create a good impression on the implementation of the international standard championship.

To provide a sense of security and comfort, he said, the North Sumatra Police had previously lowered the 'Bus Command and Monitoring Center' of the Directorate of Security for Vital Objects (Dit Pamobvit) to digitally monitor security.

The 'Bus Command Monitoring Center' is a passenger cabin that has been modified as a post room and'monitoring' equipped with a 70-inch 'computer all in one' device, operating applications such as SOT Precision, 'early Warning System', 'full sound system', and toilets.

The vehicle is capable of monitoring the situation around a tourist attraction that is secured from a maximum distance of 500 meters connected to CCTV cameras, including five units of 'Multi Terrain Balancing Wheel' (Sigway) as a means of patrol of tourism police officers along with individual equipment, and two electric bicycles.

Previously, the Head of the Samosir Regency Government Environment Agency, Edison Pasaribu, said that so far the condition of the track is clean from hyacinth and safe will not interfere with the race.

The hyacinth around the Aquabike Jetski competition area on Lake Toba was feared to be disturbing. This plant is used by the surrounding community for floating net cages (KJA).

However, Edison said the public could accept it after the cage was relocated to a designated area. For a long time around the Toba Fund, there was a lot of hyacinth that when it was dismantled it was released and carried by the wind into the middle of the lake.

"Indeed, the location there is a bit of a intersection because when the'venueaquabike' was built it was closed so that the area that was closed piled up the hyacinth. As soon as the hump was opened, everything was released. That's why there was a lot of hyacinth there," he said.
