Prabowo Subianto: Since The First I Matched NU

Prabowo Subianto admitted that he had been close to NU for a long time and Gusdurian (doc. ANTARA).

JAKARTA - Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Defense, attended the inauguration of the Honorary Professor of Malang Islamic University, Prof. Dr. KH. Ali Masykur Moesa SH, M. Hum, M.Si, in Malang City on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

Prabowo, who ran for president in the 2024 presidential election, also gave a speech at the event.

In his speech, Prabowo mentioned that he was close to President KH's example. Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur).

In addition, he also admitted that he matched Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) because he taught ajeik, tolerant, and protecting the Indonesian people.

"I think I was short of breath first. I was also close to Gus Dur. So, I am a general, but I am also Gusdurian," Prabowo was quoted as saying by ANTARA.

Prabowo further said that closeness to NU was not born recently. The match with NU has been spurred for a long time through organizational relations that were born by NU.

NU teaches Islam that is cool, tolerant, protects all, does not allow violence and extremism. So, I have always been close to Ansor, with NU, I am also Gusdurian," he said.

Prabowo's visit to Malang City was not only the inauguration of UNISMA professors, but also the opening of the National Working Meeting II of the Central Leadership of the Nahdlatul Ulama Bachelors Association (PP ISNU) at the Postgraduate Al Hikam Malang Islamic Boarding School Complex.
