Auditor Of BPK Riau Admits Receiving Bribe Money From Inactive Meranti Regent

Auditor of the Riau Representative Financial Audit Agency Muhammad Fahmi Aressa admitted that he received bribes from the inactive Meranti Islands Regent Muhammad Adil while testifying at the trial at the Pekanbaru Corruption Court.

Fahmi testified regarding the bribery case committed by Muhammad Adil to disclose the findings of the financial examination results of the Meranti Islands Regency Government.

During the trial, Fahmi admitted that he was asked for help, which was later rewarded with Rp1 billion in cash.

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Budhi Abdul Karib and his friends started the question from the request of another witness named Fajar. Fahmi received the first money from Fajar amounting to Rp150 million in the hotel room.

''He told me he wanted to deliver the file to the hotel. I just told him to leave it at the reception,'' Fahmi said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 15.

Then Fajar informed Fahmi by telephone about the file being in the room, without mentioning the money. Arriving in the room, Fahmi found that the package worth Rp150 million was already in the hotel room mini bar.

Fahmi estimates that the money is what has been discussed or offered previously. Not only that, Fajar and Fahmi met again in the parking area of a shopping center in Pekanbaru and Fahmi again received Rp150 million.

''I just opened it after I got to mes. It contains Rp150 million,' said Fahmi, who is also a prisoner in this bribery case.

Then during a financial examination in the Panjang Strait, Fahmi was suddenly invited to dinner at a restaurant by a Meranti ASN named Dita Anggoro. At that place, Fahmi said he received a request for an occupancy of the results of the financial examination.

''Bang, this will be money, I forgot from the regent or district government. This is for the team, it's normal like that,'' said Fahmi imitating Dita's words to him.

The money amounted to Rp700 million. During the promise of giving, Fahmi admitted that there was no specific request, there was only implied demand language.

''According to what Fajar said. If there are findings, please help,'' said Fahmi.

The first money was given by Dita in the amount of Rp. 200 million after an interim examination. Fahmi explained that the money was given after one day after delivering the Riau Representative BPK Team and Dita then took Fahmi out for dinner.

''After eating, he got in the car and gave money. This is Rp. 200 million first, bro,'' said Fahmi imitating.

Then, after the detailed examination was completed in April 2023, Fahmi took Dita to where she was staying. '

'When he was about to get off, he opened his bag and gave money at the Grand Zuri Hotel parking lot and said this was another Rp500 million," he said.
