JAKARTA - The United Nations Humanitarian Affairs Coordination Office (OCHA) on Saturday, November 11, revealed that there is no'safe place' in Gaza City. It also calls for protection for civilians and civilian infrastructure.

"There is no safe place, even hospitals and schools are also unsafe," OCHA wrote in X, as quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 12.

Civilians and civilian facilities must always be protected. Important infrastructure and services in Gaza suffered significant damage, thus influencing people's ability to maintain their dignity," he said.

OCHA emphasizes that 279 schools and 135 health facilities, where many people take shelter, are affected and damaged.

In a separate post, the head of UN aid confirmed that "there is no justification for acts of war in health care facilities, which leaves the facility without electricity, food and water, as well as shootings of patients and civilians trying to save themselves."

"This makes no sense, deserves punishment and must be stopped," said Martin Griffiths on X.

"Hospitals must be a safer place and those in need must believe that hospitals are a haven and not a warbed," he said.

Israel has continued to carry out air and ground attacks in the Gaza Strip, including hospitals, residences and places of worship, since the Palestinian resistance group Hamas launched a cross-border attack on October 7.

At least 11,078 Palestinians, including 4,506 children and 3,027 women, died as a result of Israeli aggression. Meanwhile, the number of deaths on the Israeli side nearly reached 1,200 people, according to official data.
