Will Hold Tarkam Football League Final At GBK, PDIP Make Sure There Will Be No Party Flag

PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) will hold the final of the Soekarno Cup Village League at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, November 3, tomorrow. It is certain that this activity will not carry political elements, such as the party flag.

"So, we also obey the FIFA statutes. We don't have a party flag, there is no campaign. So, there is no campaign," PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto told reporters at SUGBK, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, November 2.

Hasto said that the final of the tarkam league will be attended by PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri as well as presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. In addition, the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN) such as Arsjad Rasjid and other names will also be present.

"Pak Ganjar, Pak Arsjad, and figures from the supporting party we invite as parties who jointly celebrate (World Cup, red) U-17," he said.

Hasto thanked PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir for allowing the implementation of the league final round between villages to be held in SUGBK.

"Because of him, we conveyed permission for this village league, he also provided assistance," he said.

This activity was carried out as a form of celebrating Indonesia's success as the host of the U-17 World Cup. The sporting event will start on November 10-17.

In addition, Hasto said that the final of this football match was made by PDIP because it became the dream of the Proclaimer of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno or Bung Karno. This is because sports are a means to shape the nation's character.

"That Bung Karno presents football as a culture. Bung Karno makes sport a spirit of building character, sports as a symbol of supremacy, including football," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Red and White Taruna (TMP) Hendrar Prihadi or Hendi said the Soekarno Cup Village League had actually been implemented by regional heads from PDIP in their respective regions.

He said that in September 2023, the Village League tournament had been held at the city or district level. Then in October 2023, the implementation will be continued at the regional level.

Hendi said the final round of the Soekarno Cup Village League tournament would bring together the eight best teams who won at the regional level.

"Starting last September, we have carried out soccer activities at the city or district level, each of them has carried out this village league activity. Then October has entered the provincial or regional round. There are eight regions and only one champion. Then entering the semifinals and finals there will be eight teams," said Hendi.

Hendi hopes that the final round of the Soekarno Cup Village League tournament can run smoothly and produce superior seeds for national football.

"We hope that activities can run smoothly and periodically, showing that we care about football at the national level and we are trying to make young athletes so that they can compete," he concluded.
