TANJUNG SELOR - Provincial Government (Pemprov) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) launched the Synergy and Collaboration Program for Basic Service Acceleration (SKALA) and Gebyar for the First 1000 Days of Life (HPK).

The Governor of Kaltara, Zainal Arifin Paliwang said the SKALA program was to reduce the Stunting rate in Kaltara more massively.

"We are launching the SKALA Program, hopefully it can be even more massive to reduce the stunting rate of Kaltara and improve nutrition for children under the age of 2 years," said Governor Zainal, Wednesday, November 1.

The presence of the SKALA Program, continued Zainal, can help the government in various social activities such as reducing poverty, and stunting through improving basic services for the poor and underprivileged.

"I am grateful that Kaltara Province is included in the 8 provinces that are targeted by the SKALA Program. There are several basic programs from government and social activities that will be implemented," said the Governor.

Zainal admitted that the government is focusing on increasing growth for children in unaffordable areas, especially the addition of nutrition. Then the government through related agencies provides assistance to the community which is considered necessary to be helped.

"Later on, the BKKBN will take a role in carrying out the promotion and Communication of Educational Information (KIE) on the First 1000 Days of Life (HPK) from pregnancy to children aged 2 (two) years," he concluded.
