The Bekasi City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) distributed masks to residents affected by the fire at the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST).

The Coordinator of the Bekasi City BPBD Operations Control Center (Pusdalops), Karsono, said the move was to reduce the impact of the smoke fog that had spread to settlements since the fire broke out on Sunday, October 29, at around 14:15 WIB.

"At 16.25 WIB the team arrived at the location carrying masks and helping supply water for extinguishing," Karsono said in his statement, Monday, October 30.

The fire first appeared in the 2nd TPST Bantargebang zone, precisely in front of the Power House location and the Waste Power Plant (PLTSa).

There were no casualties, but this fire caused thick black smoke to soar and covered the Bantargebang area.

Karsono said to extinguish the fire the joint team deployed fire engines and water tankers.

"BPBD helps supply water using our tank cars. Currently, the fire can be controlled, however, the team is still on standby," said Karsono, Sunday, October 29 evening.
