JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) rejected the lawsuit for judicial review of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (Pemilu) regarding the age limit of presidential candidates (candidates) and vice presidential candidates (cawapres) for a maximum of 70 years. Responding to this, the General Chairperson of Gerindra at the same time will be the Presidential Candidate for the Advanced Indonesia Kaolisi (KIM), Prabowo Subianto feels strange about the lawsuits decided by the Constitutional Court. It is known, previously the Constitutional Court has also rejected the age limit for the presidential candidate at least 40 years. At the same time, the Constitutional Court has also granted a lawsuit for a minimum of 40 years of vice presidential age unless it has served through elections including regional head elections. "What I find is strange, if this is too young, if it is too old, then what should be done? Yes," Prabowo said while attending the Gerindra Rapimnas in the Darmawangsa, Monday, October 23. "So if it is not suitable to be sought after. Democracy is democracy, right?," he continued. Prabowo said, the rejection of the Constitutional Court on the 70-year presidential candidate age limit lawsuit did not make his party rush to register with the KPU. It is known, Prabowo has chosen the Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming as his vice presidential candidate. "We calculated the registration according to a good date and time," he said.
