JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Highways targets the 10.33 kilometer (km) Lasusua-Tobaku Bypass Road to be completed by the end of 2023.

"The handling of the Lasusua-Tobaku Bypass Road will be carried out in October 2023 and is targeted for completion in December 2023. The total budget is IDR 807 million," said Head of the Southeast Sulawesi National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) Freddy Siagian, Directorate General of Highways in a written statement, Saturday, October 21.

The details of handling the Lasusua Bypas Road in FY 2023 include the 8.02 km Lasusua-Tobaku Bypass Section, the 1.56 km DPRD II Beach-Road Section (Jalan Line II) and Jalan DPRD II-Watuluwu Street 0.75 km.

Meanwhile, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the Lasusua-Tobaku Bypass Road had been proposed by the local government to become a national road and is currently being handled by the Ministry of PUPR through the Southeast Sulawesi National Road Implementation Center (BPJN), Directorate General of Highways.

"The road damage at the Lasusua Beach Bypass has been handled and hopefully by the end of 2023 it will be completed," he said.

The local government also added a proposal to handle the heavily damaged provincial roads in Porehu District, North Kolaka Regency with a length of about 9 km. The road is also one of the links between North Kolaka and East Luwu Regencies.

"The proposal is together with a damaged provincial road in Porehu District, North Kolaka Regency. Later the handling will be included in the Regional Road Inpres (IJD) program which will start in 2023," he said.
