If Prabowo Collaborates With Gibran, Kiai NU: Prabowo Will Be Left By NU People

JAKARTA - Until now, Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto has yet to determine the pair of vice presidential candidates to run in the 2024 presidential election. Prabowo and the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) certainly do not want to make the wrong choice in carrying the Vice Presidential Candidate.

There are at least three names that are rumored to be partnered with Prabowo, namely Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Erick Thohir, and Khofifah Indar Parawansa. However, if Prabowo chooses Gibran as his partner, then Prabowo is considered to be abandoned by NU people.

"I think that Pak Prabowo paired with Puan's daughter or Gibran will lose his NU voice. Not only NU, maybe non-NU votes will decrease, that's my opinion," said the caretaker of the Mojosari Islamic Boarding School, KH Musyaffak Fauzi to reporters, Thursday, October 19.

This was conveyed by Kiai Musyaffak based on his inner voice. Moreover, he saw that Gibran so far was still not close to the NU community and rarely kept in touch with pesantren.

"Yes, the sound of Batamiyah is basically like that (the NU people will leave), I don't know why. Moreover, Gibran has been less close to NU and has not been in touch with Islamic boarding schools," said Kiai Musyaffak.

If you want to attract the voices of NU people in the upcoming presidential election, according to him, there are actually two people who can be collaborated with Prabowo, namely Erick Thohir and Khofifah.

"Yes, if Erick doesn't, kofifah, those two have close ties to NU," said Kiai Musyafak.

He added that as the ruler, it was only natural that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) wanted his son to continue his power. However, according to him, Gibran is still too young.

"Mr. Jokowi is an ordinary human being. It's only natural that if you want your child to continue, you have to see that it's still young, don't force it," explained Kiai Musyaffak.

He also hopes that President Jokowi's leadership will not end badly just because it nominates his son as Vice President in this presidential election.

"So you have to look around too, it's worth not for the community. Maybe you need to think clearly. So far, people are stroking, later after this it will become su'ul khotimah because they force their son, it's not good either," he said.
