Sandiaga After Mahfud MD Announced As Candidate For Ganjar: Happy Fight!

JAKARTA - Chairman of the General Election Winning Body (Bappilu) of the United Development Party (PPP) Sandiaga Uno encouraged the presidential and vice presidential candidates Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. He hopes this historic moment will bring progress to Indonesia.

"Congratulations on fighting and, God willing, this historic day will lead us to an indonesia of gold, prosperous, just and prosperous," Sandiaga said after Mahfud MD's announcement as Ganjar vice presidential candidate at the PDI Perjuangan DPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, October 18.

It is known that Sandiaga was once encouraged by his party to become a candidate to accompany Ganjar in the 2024 presidential election. This is based on the results of the National Working Conference (Mukernas) in Yogyakarta some time ago.

However, Sandiaga's name later faded until finally Mahfud MD was chosen as Ganjar's vice presidential candidate.

Sandiaga did not want to talk much about the vice president. However, he expressed his gratitude for the decision that had been taken by Ganjar's supporting parties.

Meanwhile, Plt Chairman of PPP Mardiono said he was not disappointed with the decision taken to pair Ganjar with Mahfud. He said, currently, Sandi will focus on winning the party bearing the symbol of the Kaaba and supported presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"So the victory over the defeat of PPP is on Mr. Sandi's shoulders. So Mr. Sandi does not bring interest to his individuals," said Mardiono at the same location.

As previously reported, the General Chairperson of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri officially announced Mahfud MD as Ganjar's companion in the 2024 presidential election. This decision was taken after the contemplation was carried out and had a dialogue with the general chairmen and other figures.

As for the announcement of the vice presidential candidate, all general chairmen of the party carrying Ganjar were present, such as Plt Chairman of PPP Muhamad Mardiono, Chairman of the Hanura Party Oesman Sapta Odang, Chairman of the Perindo Party Hary Tanoesoedibjo, and Chairman of the National Winning Team Ganjar Presiden (TPN GP) Arsjad Rasyid.

Then were PDIP officials, such as PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, PDIP General Treasurer Olly Dondokambey, PDIP DPP Chairperson who is also Megawati's son, Prananda Prabowo and Puan Maharani and other cadres.
