MM: Candidates Under 40 Years Can Still Be Proposed As President-Cawapres Candidates As Long As They Have Experience As Officials

JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) stated that prospective presidential-vice presidential candidates who are under 40 years old can still be proposed to run for the presidential election as long as they have the experience of public office results from the election.

"For presidential and vice presidential candidates who are at least 40 years old, they can still be proposed as presidential and vice presidential candidates. Meanwhile, candidates for Yyang are under 40 years old can still be proposed as presidential and vice presidential candidates as long as they have experience as they have or are in the position of officials elected through the election in casu for DPD members, DPRD members, governors, regents or mayors but excluding appointed officials (apointed officials)," said Judge MK Guntur Hamzah, Monday, October 16.

The Constitutional Court (MK) stated that it could not determine the minimum age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates. The reason for the determination by the Constitutional Court is that it is possible to cause dynamics.
