Trapped In Online And Pinjol Gambling, Former Alfamart Employee Sells Parents' Houses To Cover Debt In Mobile Banks

TANGERANG Many people depend on their lives through gambling. In fact, not infrequently, the story of someone who experiences suffering from online gambling addiction. Like Indra, a Tangerang resident who is 'exhausted' because of online gambling addiction.

Indra, not his real name. The 27-year-old man wants to be disguised. However, Indra wants to share his experience so that people are not trapped in online gambling and online loans (pinjol).

Indra admitted that he started gambling since he was in high school. In the past, the gambling he played was a conventional type, an old model. But because the digital era developed, online gambling was tried.

Indra was previously an employee at Alfamart. He once sold his parents' house in the Karawaci area, Tangerang City because he was involved in borrowing. The proceeds from selling houses to cover loans and mobile banks. It's because of the effect of playing online gambling.

Indra admitted that he had been trying online gambling since 2014, a type of football match at that time.

"Yes, so (jud) the ball. From small to big ones, just choose. I played Rp. 500 thousand first," Indra told VOI, Thursday, October 13.

Not satisfied in one type of game, Indra penetrated the type of casino game, and online lottery. The stakes are relatively large, reaching IDR 5 million.

"If you play first, it's crazy. Once playing Rp5 million. Want to double the money," he admitted.

Regarding winning or losing, for Indra it is normal. But he always tries to make every game he plays always win, so that his capital can return.

"When I lost, the position was all over again. Then I felt annoyed that when there was a match I didn't play. I borrowed a mobile bank with a guarantee of a parent's house of Rp. 100 million," he said.

"Anyway, if you borrow Rp. 100 million, it will be Rp. 120 million. So if I pass (paid plate) I will continue to add Rp. 5 million per 2 weeks," said Indra.

But who would have thought, the plan he was thinking about was wrong. Indra lost and had to repay a mobile bank loan.

Because the loan money from the mobile bank ran out, and there was no income, Indra avoided the bill.

In fact, he was willing to leave his job so that debt collectors did not come to his office.

"You choose to run away, stay at your friends' house," he said.

In a bad situation, Indra still dared to borrow money through loans on a number of applications.

"I borrowed in 3 applications (pinjol). Around Rp. 500 thousand to Rp. 1 million," he concluded.

Again, at the time of Indra's maturity, I chose to disappear. Indra's friends were targeted by Debt Collector.

"I cantumin the names of my friends in an emergency contact. Then I said. If it was billed, just say I was dead," he joked.

Indra became the target of debt collectors from a number of loan applications. Even the debt collectors of mobile banks are looking for Indra because his debt has reached hundreds of millions, to be precise Rp170 million for one provider. Indra was finally wanted by thugs.

"There was one moment when he (debt collector) used thugs, then passed me. It was sad. I said I asked for time to pay, I wanted to sell the house," added Indra.

There is no choice for Indra, the house of the parents is the only asset that he can take advantage of. Indra tried to negotiate with family members, the mother and her brother. Because his father had died.

With the reason that he wanted to get out of the black hole and wanted to live a peaceful life, the choice to sell the house was taken. The mother did not have the heart to see her child become a debt collector and thug, as well as Indra's brother who could not bear to see his sister suffer.

Until finally Indra's parents sold his house in Karawaci, Tangerang to cover up his son's debts.

"My brother gave me permission, because he was also kind to me. My mother wanted to live close (with the child) so she agreed. Yes, so that it doesn't get noisy (disturbed by debt collectors)," he concluded.

The house was successfully sold at a price of IDR 700 million. Indra paid his debts.

"I pay the bank around Rp175 million. I don't know what the calculation is. Anyway, the important thing is to pay off. The rest, I buy a house in Parung, Tangerang Regency," he continued.

Indra said, there were several loans that were not fully paid. Because, continued Indra, debt collectors have lost track, since the house was sold.

"Never billed again. Maybe they came to the old house. The person is already different. If you collect it from a friend, it's really stupid," he said with a laugh.

Shortly after moving home, his older brother died. Indra now lives alone with his 64-year-old mother.

Indra realized that what he was doing had made him chaotic, upset and problematic. Online gambling and borrowing made him depressed. Luckily, his mother understands very well and helps so that all problems disappear.

Currently Indra works as an admin in one of the expedition services. He is trusted by his best friend to work in his place.

"Alhamdulillah, now I've worked, I'm invited by friends. To love you, I can," said Indra, who claimed to have reduced online gambling.

"If it doesn't stop yet. But. If it's less, yes. Now I just give you money," he concluded.
