SYL Leaves His Parents' Residence In Makassar After The KPK Announces Suspect Status

MAKASSAR - Former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) finally left his parents' residence after visiting his mother, Nurhayati Yasinuusai, who was named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Jalan Haji Bau, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

From ANTARA's observation, Wednesday, October 11, SYL came out of his parents' house wearing a black jacket covering a white shirt and wearing a black mask and wearing a hat when getting into the car.

Syahrul came out of his mother's yard at around 21.25 WITA in a black sedan brand Crown 3,000 CC with police license plate number DD 1990 R and left with his family in two other cars.

SYL's nephew Devo Gaddafi said before he left his mother's house when he met reporters that his uncle would go to Jakarta if his mother's condition had improved and could be abandoned.

However, since this morning her mother's condition in the house has not been stable and has gone up and down, you know, she is 90 years old. Even had a cough and shortness of breath, so it was still maintained. And tonight his condition started to improve.

'We, the family, are all in to pray for the recovery of Nurhayati Yasin Limpo's mother, our grandmother, the mother of SYL's father," he said.

"Regarding the law, please contact my friends directly, Mr. SYL's legal adviser, I only represent my family regarding the condition of Mr. SYL's mother who is sick," said Devo.

"Anyway, if his condition has improved in the sense that he can be abandoned, then Mr. SYL goes straight home (to Jakarta), he has emphasized earlier. Please pray for our grandmothers to be cured and recover and Mr. Syahrul can immediately follow the legal process," he stressed.

It is not yet known where SYL went with his family. However, according to information, the person concerned will leave for Jakarta tonight by airplane at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport Makassar, in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi.

Previously, the former governor of South Sulawesi for two periods was scheduled to attend an examination by KPK investigators regarding the alleged corruption case.

However, it was canceled because he had to visit his sick mother at his residence at Jalan Haji Bau Makassar, South Sulawesi. However, while in Makassar the KPK has confirmed its determination as a suspect in alleged extortion in positions and gratuities

Apart from SYL, two of his subordinates were also named suspects, namely the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture with the initials KS (Kasdi Subagyono) and the Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Ministry of Agriculture with the initials MH (Muhammad Hatta) in this case.

KPK investigators applied three articles, namely Article 12 letter e and Article 12 B of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
