The Metro Police Chief Said About The Figure Of The KPK Leader Who Was Allegedly Riceing SYL

JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto confirmed that he would trace the figure of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leader who was suspected of extorting former Agriculture Minister (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo. According to him, the figure of the KPK leader will be revealed along with the investigation process.

"Yes, we just saw the incident first, later it will develop towards who really received it, later from the results of the investigation," Karyoto told reporters, Wednesday, October 11.

It is known that the KPK leadership consists of five people, namely KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri and four deputy chairmen, namely Alexander Marwata, Johanis Tanak, Nawawi Pomolango, and Nurul Ghufron.

So far, to reveal the figure of a KPK leader who is suspected of extorting SYL, investigators from the Corruption Sub-Directorate of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya are looking for evidence and clues.

"We'll see (the figure of the KPK leader). That's the result of the next investigation," said Karyoto.

Polda Metro Jaya has upgraded the status of the alleged extortion case committed by KPK officials to SYL to the investigation stage. The decision is based on the results of the case title.

"From the results of the implementation of the case title, it is then recommended to increase the status of the investigation to the investigation stage of the alleged criminal act of corruption in the form of extortion," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak.

The photos and meetings will be investigated as a result of recommendations from the case title process which was carried out on Friday, October 6, yesterday.

The investigation was carried out on the basis of alleged violation of Article 65 in conjunction with Article 36 of the KPK Law. Where, investigators are prohibited from dealing with parties who are litigating.

"There is a prohibition on direct or indirect contact with the suspect or other parties related to the handling of corruption crimes committed by the KPK for any reason," said Ade.

Meanwhile, in the circulating photo, Firli and Syahrul allegedly met at the badminton sports arena (gor). It is not clear when the meeting was.

Firli, still in the same photo, is seen wearing a dark sports shirt with white accents and black shorts and sports shoes. Meanwhile, Syahrul was seen wearing a shirt and jeans.
