Not In Accordance With KPU Rules, Anies Can't Use The Indonesian Building To Sue Bandung

JABAR - Acting Governor of West Java (Jabar) Beyvi Machmudin explained that the Indonesian Plaintiff Building (GIM) could not be used as an Anies Baswedan presidential candidate on Sunday, October 8.

Bey said that Anies could not use the GIM because it was not in accordance with the permit given by what happened in the field.

"I strongly support freedom of expression and express my opinion. I am also very open to receiving criticism. Regarding Mr. Anies Baswedan's event, please see it in its entirety between permission and what happened," said Bey at Gedung Sate Bandung, Monday, October 9 evening, confiscated by Antara.

Bey detailed, first there was an application for permission which was conveyed in it that it would be used for discussion, which was later confirmed by confirmation from the West Java Tourism and Culture Office with an answer being obtained that the activity was for discussion and not for politics.

However, one day before the event, continued Bey, the West Java Disparbud saw billboards with the words presidential and vice presidential candidates that were not in accordance with the directives and rules of the General Elections Commission (KPU).

The regulation in question is the Appeal of the General Elections Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 766 / PL.01.6-SD / 05/2023 regarding the appeal not to Install an Equipment for Socialization that resembles Campaign Performance Equipment in Places of Worship, Hospitals, Government Buildings including TNI/Polri Owned Facilities and BUMN / BUMD. Which was later confirmed through Article 71 of KPU Regulation Number 15 of 2023 concerning General Election Campaigns.

"Pak Anies as a former governor, the former minister also understands. That there are rules that must be enforced by ASN. Where they see billboards, with the words of presidential and vice-presidential candidates. It is clear that there are KPU rules, prohibiting implementation is like a campaign, during the previous campaign," he said.

Finally, said Bey, Disparbud, who was in a position to enforce the rules, put down the banners and billboards, and re-confirmed the permit applicant that the event was not a discussion and there was a political element (candidate-cawapres) in it.

"Then the information from the Head of Tourism and Culture, the applicant apologized and there was an error. Then we submitted the permit to revoke it. There the applicant understood, but the next day the Bandung Police coordinated with Disparbud, saying that the event participants had headed to the Indonesian Building. Sue and Kadisparbud gave a policy to give permission but only in the yard," he said.

Regarding information on September 17, 2023, the Indonesian Building of the Plaintiff was used by Ganjar Pranowo volunteers, Bey revealed that the presidential and vice presidential candidates did not clearly state.

"On September 17, volunteers from other Presidential Decree, the information I received from ASN, did not clearly state the presidential and vice-presidential candidates. If it is only a discussion, we will give permission," he said.

So it's more about discussion," he said.
