PKS President Meets Denanyar Islamic Boarding School Caretaker Gus Salam In Jombang

The caretaker of the Al Risalah Mambaul Maarif Denanyar Islamic Boarding School, Jombang Regency, East Java, KH Abdussalam Shohib (Gus Salam) received a visit from PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu and his staff.

When receiving a visit from PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu and his staff to the Al Risalah Mambaul Maarif Denanyar Jombang Islamic Boarding School, Gus Salam hoped that PKS would always maintain friendship, including ahead of the 2024 General Election.

"Silaturahim to Islamic boarding schools like this must continue," said Gus Salam, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 7.

The group was greeted by caregivers, KH Abdul Wahab Khalil and KH Abdussalam Shohib or Gus Salam at the pesantren. Gus Salam advised PKS to continue their friendship habits to Islamic boarding schools to meet the kiai.

He also appreciated the position of PKS, which for 10 years has been the government's opposition. According to him, sustainability will be created in this country.

"Thank you for the friendship, as an effort to continue to communicate between the nation's children to continue to strengthen the spirit of unity and maintain the ukhuwah Islamiyah, ukhuwah wathoniyah and ukhuwah insaniyah as an important foundation built by the founding father of this republic which continues to be voiced by the founders of NU. Hopefully the communication that will continue," he said.

Gus Salam also conveyed his belief that the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair will be destined to win in the upcoming presidential election.

"Continue to work together to maintain a conducive atmosphere in Indonesia," he said.

Meanwhile, KH Abdul Wahab Khalil admitted that he knew PKS as a party that had militant members.

"We know very well PKS as a militant party. Hopefully it will continue to be maintained, for AMIN's victory. Hopefully, everything can be counted as a pious charity," said Kiai Wahab.

In addition, visiting Gus Salam and Kiai Wahab at Denanyar Islamic Boarding School, the PKS group made a pilgrimage to the tomb of the founder of NU, namely KH Wahab Hasbullah accompanied by KH Sholahul Aam Wahib Wahab or who is familiarly called Gus Aam and KH Ghozi Wahib Wahab, Cucu Kiai Wahab Hasbullah.

The PKS President's entourage also visited the Chairman of the East Java PWNU KH Marzuki Mustamar. On that occasion, Kiai Marzuki gave a gift in the form of a book entitled "Al-Muqtathofat li Expert Bidayah" to PKS administrators. The book, which was prepared by Kiai Marzuqi, contains the arguments of the faith and amaliah Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Aswaja) which is usually practiced by NU residents.

"In Islamic boarding schools, the main activity is to recite the book. So let's take advantage of this opportunity to recite this book. Immediately read the chapter of the sunnah Ahlus wal jamaah on page 31," said Kiai Marzuki.

In addition to studying, Kiai Marzuki together with PKS officials also discussed efforts to strengthen national commitment and wasathiyah (moderation) attitudes for all Indonesian people.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the East Java PKS DPW, Irwan Setiawan, who also accompanied the PKS President, said it was important to build this gathering. He is also close to NU's family, including the PWNU chairman. According to him, about eight times sowan went to the residence of KH Marzuki Mustamar.

"I've often been invited to the kiai glue. I saw the books to the kiai. In addition, I also often receive invitations from the East Java PWNU. Every time PWNU holds activities, the East Java PKS is always invited," said the 47-year-old man who was born to the NU family.
