JK Says Anies Has A Track Record To Improve The Indonesian Nation

JAKARTA - Former Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla assessed that Anies Baswedan's future presidential candidate (candidate) has leadership and intelligence to lead Indonesia.

"I support the best that can improve this nation in the future and Anies is one of those who have that track record. The person has leadership, intelligence; this is a great nation, (Anies) is firm in the establishment, has experience, and everything is fulfilled by Anies," said JK quoting Antara.

According to JK, Anies has a complete package as a leader. Anies was the Chancellor of Paramadina University for the 2007-2015 period, the Minister of Education and Culture for the 2014-2016 period, and the Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 2017-2022 period. Indonesia, continued JK, also needs a leader who can lead Indonesia well.

During the meeting, JK provided multivitamin provisions for Anies who will fight in the 2024 presidential election. If he wins the presidential election, then Anies will lead Indonesia with around 270 million people, more than Singapore and Malaysia.

"This is eight times compared to Malaysia. So, this requires people to synergize. Therefore, I give vitamins so that stamina is stronger in facing the next four months," said JK.

When asked about Anies' advice to face the 2024 General Election, JK admitted to giving advice to Anies rather than other presidential candidates who meet him. JK said Anies should pay more attention to areas that have the potential to support him.

"This is one man, one vote, right. Of course give originals. If you love the people, how, not made up. Tell the people that I am like this and show that the ability exists," he ordered.

JK also asked Anies to uphold the principle that the democratic party every five years in the country runs well.

On Saturday morning, Anies Baswedang held a meeting for about 2.5 hours at JK's private residence on Jalan Brawijaya, South Jakarta.

Previously, on Wednesday (4/10), JK also received the arrival of PDI-P DPP Chair Puan Maharani at her private residence. Puan's presence at JK's house was to stay in touch as well as discuss the current condition of the nation and its challenges in the future. Prabowo Subianto also visited JK in the context of friendship on Tuesday (2/5).
