Dozens Of Residents Refuge Due To Fires At Kliwon Market Settlement Solo

SOLO - Dozens of residents were forced to evacuate due to fires that occurred in a densely populated area in Joyosudiran Village, Pasar Kliwon District, Solo, Central Java.

"As of tonight, there are 17 families (head of families) affected by the fire in the warehouse, 52 people for the number," said Head of the Surakarta City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Nico Agus Putranto in Solo, Central Java, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 3.

The evacuation site is centered at the Pasar Kliwon Village Office. However, there are two evacuation locations that have been prepared.

"Another one is at SD Muhammadiyah 23, but it is still empty there. While the focus is here, our main post is open here," he said.

The condition of the refugees is in good health. However, there was one person who had shortness of breath but is now improving.

Some of the refugees because their houses caught fire and some of them were hit by thick smoke.

"What we accommodate here is that the house is on fire, some are affected. The impact is spraying on the house so that houses cannot be occupied, some houses are hit by thick enough smoke so they evacuate temporarily," he said.

From the temporary data that came in, 12 houses were burned or affected by the fire.

Regarding the basic needs of the refugees, he ensures that they are safe.

"We pay attention to the basic needs, especially the handling of eating and drinking. At night, ready-to-eat food first so that quickly, drink has also been prepared, there are snacks and bread. Meanwhile, mattress sleeping utensils and there is support from the Ministry of Social Affairs in the form of foam mattresses. Tonight is sufficient (logistics, Red.)," he said.
