The Balangan District Attorney (Kejari), South Kalimantan, has detained the former Head of the Balangan Regency Agriculture Service, Ri.

The suspect is suspected of being involved in corruption in the procurement of livestock/oil and gas at the Agriculture Service for the 2019 and 2020 Fiscal Years sourced from the APBD around Rp3.5 billion.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Balangan District Attorney Raj Boby CF said the detention of the suspect Ri was based on the Detention Order of the Head of the Balangan District Attorney Number: PRINT-408/O.3.22/Ft.1/10/2023 dated October 3, 2023 related to the detention of one suspect in a corruption case.

Boby said the suspect was detained for the next 20 days at the Class IIB Barabai Detention Center, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency.

Based on the results of the investigation and examination, said Boby, investigators believe that the detention requirements stipulated in the Criminal Procedure Code are threatened with five years in prison and it is feared that the suspect will run away, destroy or destroy evidence and/or repeat a criminal act.
