Gathering To Jokowi Bara JP Volunteers, Kaesang: Volunteers Move Politics

JAKARTA - The youngest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed the reason he visited the Jokowi President Volunteers Front (Bara JP) for the first time after being appointed as Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).

Kaesang said Bara JP was the oldest volunteer and was the first to express his support for Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for two terms as president.

"This is my first political safari or gathering with the president's volunteers. One of them is Bara JP, which is the oldest volunteer, the first volunteer to support the president for these two periods," said Kaesang at the headquarters of Bara JP, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 27.

When asked why he did not visit political parties first, Kaesang explained that the current political conditions were different from before.

According to him, political parties are actually driven by volunteers. Therefore, he came to Bara JP to ask for support in order to win PSI in the 2024 General Election.

"Now this politics is actually driven by volunteers. One of them is by Bara JP, who can win the president twice and win two terms," he said.

Even so, continued Kaesang, he has established communication with Perindo. He admitted that Perindo Chairman Hary Tanoesoedibjo was open to holding meetings with PSI.

"I have met Mr. HT (Hary Tanoe). I have permission to go there, he is very open, whenever, he will accept us friends from PSI to sowan to Perindo," he explained.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of Bara JP Utje Gustaaf Patty was grateful for Kaesang's arrival to his headquarters. He considered the move as the beginning of the series to undergo a relationship with all Jokowi volunteers.

"I am grateful to have this honor, visited for the first time, very grateful to Mas Kaesang," said Utje.
