Megawati: Presidential Study Center Becomes A World Community Reference

Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), Megawati Soekarnoputri, stated that the Center for Presidential Statistics Archive Studies could be a lesson and reference for the world community.

This statement was conveyed by Megawati when inaugurating and signing the inscription of the Presidential Statistics Archives Study Center, which included the permanent exhibition of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir. Sukarno at the Indonesian National Archives building, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 13.

"When I was 14 years old, when I was the youngest delegation at the High Level Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (KTT GNB) I in Belgrade, Europe, I was allowed to take a walk by Mr (President Sukarno), as long as I still paid attention to the speech delivered. The archive has been designated by UNESCO as a World Memory, so all people (in the world) can use the speech as a lesson," Megawati said as quoted by ANTARA.

In addition to inaugurating the Presidential Statistics Archives Study Center, Megawati also provided ministerial-level Pancasila ideology development, heads of non-ministerial government agencies (LPNK), high-ranking officials representing ministries/agencies, regional secretaries from 38 provinces, representatives of state universities, and political parties.

Meanwhile, the Head of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) Imam Gunarto said that the National Collective Memory (MKB) and World Memory of the World (MoW) program is the spirit of the presidential archive program, therefore, the MKB and MoW programs must continue to be developed.

"In addition to the presidential archive program, ANRI also has a program that is very related and becomes the spirit of the presidential archive, namely the MKB and MoW programs. The recognition of the international community for the achievements of the Indonesian nation must continue to be developed from various fields, including from the path of cultural diplomacy, through archives and scripts," said Imam.

The holding of President Sukarno's static archive exhibition is in line with one of ANRI's missions, which is to provide access to archives to the public for the benefit of government, development, research, and science for the welfare of the people, according to the laws and regulations. archives for the benefit of the nation.

President Sukarno's Permanent Archives is located on Jalan Gajah Mada, West Jakarta. The location of this exhibition is very strategic because it is close to the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta as well as the Old City which also holds a lot of memory and historical buildings.

This exhibition is expected not only to be visited by local people, but also foreign tourists, considering that Sukarno is also a figure who is already known at the world level.

The Center for Archive Studies of the First President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Sukarno consists of four hall featuring the permanent exhibition of Sukarno's archive as the Father of the Indonesian Nation, namely Hall1 which is called Aku Indonesia, showing off Sukarno's story from birth to death, and Hall2 namely Jalan Politik, which tells the story of Sukarno's political struggle and dedication.

Then, it was Halled 3, namely Patron Budaya, which tells the aesthetics and civilizations, and Hall4, namely Welfare and Kerakyatan, which show off about Sukarno's ideals to realize the economic independence of the Indonesian nation.
