JAKARTA - Chairman of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Yusril Ihza Mahendra said he would not force him to become a vice presidential candidate accompanying the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto. The decision is entirely in the hands of the Minister of Defense.

This was conveyed by Yusril during a speech at the Consolidation of Zone III for the Victory of the UN Legislative Election and the Victory of Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate at the Pangeran Hotel, Padang City, Saturday, September 9.

"By the UN cadres, I am advised to become vice presidential candidates," said Yusril in his speech.

"If so (elected to be a vice presidential candidate, ed) thank God. Otherwise, thank God too," he continued.

Yusril ensured that his party would go straight with Prabowo. Moreover, his party has supported him from the start with the National Awakening Party (PKB).

However, PKB actually moved after the Forward Indonesia Coalition was filled by many new parties, such as the Golkar Party's National Mandate Party (PAN) and the Gelora Party.

"But Mr. Prabowo, whispers say that PKB will later enter again," he said.

Yusril also emphasized that the United Nations is a loyal coalition friend. In fact, this party is ready to impose sanctions on cadres who have different choices.

"The PBB firmly states that it has taken a decision to support Pak Prabowo and not to have any different opinions from the decision of the UN DPP. I have emphasized that if someone returns, give a stern warning and fire. We do not want the UN to be divided. We remain in one line, one command, one goal, "said the former Minister of Justice and Human Rights.

This support was given because Prabowo was considered capable of raising the dignity of Indonesia not to be left behind by other nations. In addition, Prabowo's experience in the military world is also a plus.

Meanwhile, Prabowo thanked the United Nations for supporting him. He made sure he was ready to give everything as his duty as a patriot.

"This is a lot of patriots' encouragement, because it is in my heart, so I feel big hearted by the encouragement and trust that these great figures invite you to trust me as President in 2024," he said on the same occasion.

The former Danjen Kopassus was also impressed with the support of the people of West Sumatra on his third visit. Prabowo then had time to talk about his experience working with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as minister.

He said, all the support he would receive would be accepted to continue the success of the current government. "With a great team, we can make a big leap," said Prabowo.

"From the solid foundation that President Joko Widodo has built, we are able to jump even greater, because of that belief, I feel great, from the support I receive everywhere, including the affirmation of support from the United Nations," he concluded.
